Frequently asked questions.

What kind of support do you provide?

I offer personalised breastfeeding and infant feeding support to help you feel confident and comfortable in your feeding journey. This includes latch and positioning, managing pain, milk supply concerns, expressing, combination feeding, and bottle feeding. My approach is gentle, practical and tailored to your goals.

Do you only support breastfeeding?

No — I support all parents, whether you breastfeed, express, combination feed or formula feed. Support should always be compassionate and judgement-free.

When should I book support?

You can book at any point — during pregnancy to prepare, shortly after birth, or later in your journey if challenges arise. It’s never too late to ask for help.

Where do appointments take place?

I provide home visits across Thanet and I also support families further afield across Kent.

How long is a consultation?

Initial consultations last around 90 minutes. Follow-up support varies depending on your needs.

Can my partner be involved?

Yes — partners and supporters are welcome and encouraged to join. Feeding is a family journey.

Do you provide tongue-tie assessments?

As an IBCLC, I can assess feeding and oral function, offer strategies to improve feeding, and — if needed — signpost to trusted NHS or private tongue-tie practitioners.

What qualifications do you have?

I am a Midwife and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) — the highest qualification in breastfeeding support worldwide. I am also currently training as a Birth Trauma Resolution Practitioner.

Do you work alongside the NHS?

Yes — I complement the care provided by your midwife or health visitor. I can also help you access local NHS infant feeding services where available.

Is your service NHS-funded?

My service is private and not NHS-funded, but I aim to keep fees fair and accessible. Payment plans are available — please ask if you need support with costs.
